An unusual source of inspiration, blank VHS tape sleeves can feature some incredible designs. I decided to create a font based on one of my sleeves developed by Randix. Each letter for Videotape shows letterforms through cut-outs of the sleeves, with the tape within providing negative space. Each letter is unique with a bespoke sleeve, allowing you to view the graphical elements clearly, no matter the shape. Keeping with the retro feel, I also designed a document inspired by Apple, informing the viewer about the inspiration, development and other information.
