A staple of many personal Football Manager saves, I set out to modernise the crest of Gefle IF, a multi-sports club based in Gävle, Sweden. The current badge is a variation of a hand-drawn design, a style common among many Scandinavian clubs. I’ve always found it curious that the ‘Sky Blues’ wear a rather dark blue crest, especially considering their nickname. In 2011, they updated their home strips to resemble Argentina’s national team colours, and I wanted to reflect this change in the new design.

My goal was to simplify the badge while retaining its key elements—such as the laurel leaves, the founding year, and the castle with three spires—while giving it a more modern, refined look.
